TALLAHASSEE, Fla (WTXL)- Dozens of students who survived a school shooting are coming to the Capital City.

Leon County Schools is hosting the students from Stoneman Douglas. A few students arrived earlier Tuesday and the rest are on the interstate, scheduled to be in Tallahassee Tuesday night.

The Parkland students are coming to the Capitol to fight for gun safety reform.

They'll be focusing on four specific Senate bills.

Three focus on the guns themselves, including one bill that would limit access to assault weapons like the AR-15 rifle police say was used to kill 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas high school last week.

Another bill would help improve mental health services in Florida schools.

Some students already met with lawmakers on both sides of the aisle at the Capitol on Tuesday. We're staying on top of this story, so make sure you stick with WTXL for updates.
