TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Capitol was packed with parents and their children Thursday for their own 'Take Your Child to Work Day' sponsored by the Department of Economic Opportunity.

DEO hosted their annual Career Exploration Event to show children the many different career paths available.

Information booths ranged from the Leon County Sheriff's Office to the Florida Public Archeology Network.

Smokey the Bear made an appearance, teaching the importance of fire safety.

The event also featured keynote speakers from kids and parents.

And for the kids interested in meteorology, First Alert Chief Meteorologist Casanova Nurse was on hand with a weather wall for kids to practice.
