FOUNTAIN, Fla. (AP) - A 56-year-old woman is accused of fatally shooting a former Bay County Sheriff's deputy during a domestic dispute.

The shooting happened Monday in Fountain, a town north of Panama City.

The News Herald of Panama City (http://bit.ly/1ziTTvO ) reports 60-year-old Sam Walter Denham had twice sought protection against Hundley. Authorities say she shot him in the chest early Monday and he died a short time later.

Officials say the couple had been in a relationship for about 13 years. Denham filed for a protective injunction in March, writing that he felt his life was in imminent danger. The petition was denied because Denham didn't include enough facts about the threats.

Hundley is awaiting a first appearance hearing and it's unclear whether she's hired an attorney.
