FRANKLIN COUNTY, FL (WTXL) -- One person is dead and two others  are injured at a spiritual camping event in the Apalachicola National Forest, said the Franklin county Sheriff's office.

Deputies said that they responded to the area near Wright Lake for a report of a shooting around 2:30 am Thursday. When they arrived, they said they found one man dead from a gunshot wound and another who was shot several times. A third man, who deputies have identified as a suspect, was found with several stab wounds.

According to deputies, the incident happened while a Rainbow Family of Living Light gathering was happening. However, a representative claiming to be with the Rainbow Family of Living Light said that they are no longer affiliated with the group that was camping at this event.

Deputies say that several members of the Rainbow group were able to detain the suspect until officers arrived on scene.

The suspect and the other shooting victim were both flown to a Tallahassee hospital and are listed in critical condition, said deputies.

At this time authorities have not released the names of any of the people involved but say that none of the injured people were local to the area.

FDLE and the United States Forest Service helped assist in this investigation.
