TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) -- Leon County is constructing a roundabout near the intersection of Thomasville Road and Bannerman and Bradford Road. With the construction, customers have to detour, making access to some businesses very difficult.
The county says when the construction is done, it will relieve traffic congestion and help the area continue to grow and develop. The owner of Z Bardhi's Italian Cuisine, says he has seen the new traffic pattern affect business, and the sound coming from the project can be distracting, but feels the overall goal will make the temporary disturbance worth it.
"A lot of the new customers, when they come, they call us on the phone and they kind of get a little lost", said Zeke Bardhi, owner of Z Bardhi's Italian Cuisine. "They get a little frustrated and then this is too late to come or they cannot find the restaurant because there's construction going on... Something has got to be done, so we cannot complain. Business [may] get maybe a little affected but nothing we can do really."
The Kinhega Drive roundabout construction is expected to last until Mid- August. The county says it is necessary to keep up with the growing development of the area.
