New Recovery Center Aids Storm Survivors in Thomasville

THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WTXL) - Residents affected by January's severe weather can visit a new Disaster Recovery Center in Thomasville.

Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency, FEMA, and the U.S. Small Business Administration are partnering with local officials at the Thomas County Fire Department to help those affected by the recent storms.

Service offerings begin Wednesday, Feb. 8. Weekly hours are Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The center is closed on Sundays.

Registration is available on sight for those unable to complete recommended online pre-registration.

Berrien, Cook, Crisp, Dougherty, Thomas, Turner, Wilcox and Worth county residents can register online at Disaster Assistance.gov, download the apt at fema.gov/mobile-app, or call 800-621-3362.
