TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Plans for a new affordable housing development will appeal to growing population in the Capital City.
WTXL ABC's Jada Williams was live Friday morning with details about the new housig development focusing on Tallahassee's seniors.
The plan to build a 100 unit senior affordable housing project is a part of the Orange Avenue Public Housing Redevelopment Strategy.
The city manager will now commit $425,625 to support the application for low-income housing tax credits for the development of senior affordable housing.
Due to their age and condition, all the existing Orange Avenue public housing units will be demolished and replaced with new housing.
That project will redevelop the public housing site, adding 390 residential units.
The Orange Avenue Apartments redevelopment plan will be done in phases over a number of years.
