COLBERT COUNTY, Ala. (WAAY) - Greg Aziz, the former CEO of a Shoals company charged with trying to defraud Retirement Systems of Alabama out of $350 million, is scheduled to go to trial in April.

Aziz's trial was initially scheduled to begin Oct. 6 but will now be in court April 6. According to court documents, prosecutors did not oppose a motion to continue the trial until spring.

Aziz, the CEO of National Steel Car Limited, is charged with 10 counts of securities fraud. He is accused of giving fraudulent information to obtain a loan from RSA that helped build the National Alabama railcar plant in Colbert County.

The plant was expected to provide 1,800 jobs but never reached 200.

He has pleaded not guilty.
