TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A memorial service is being held for the Taylor County deputy who was killed in a Monday morning crash after his vehicle collided with a semi-truck.
Governor Rick Scott issued his condolences to both the families of Taylor County Deputy Scott Williams, and a fallen Miami Police Officer Jorge Sanchez, who was killed in a motorcycle crash.
In his statement the governor said quote, "We must take every opportunity to recognize these officers, and their families, for this tremendous sacrifice. We will do all we can to honor Deputy Williams and Officer Sanchez's service and courage."
A memorial service for Deputy Williams will be held on Saturday at 4 p.m at Steinhatchee High School.
