MARIANNA, Fla. (WTXL) - A Marianna man was arrested after he was found with 52 grams of meth by police following a brief car and foot pursuit.

Timothy Myrick, 31, was arrested by the Marianna Police Department.

On Tuesday at about 12:02 a.m., officers tried to conduct a traffic stop on Myrick's car for a faulty equipment infraction.

When officers activated their emergency lights, Myrick continued to drive, turning down multiple roads.

Eventually, Myrick jumped out of the car while it was still moving and ran on foot. Officers then engaged in a foot pursuit before he was arrested.

When officers searched him, they found a plastic bag that contained 52 grams of methamphetamine. Officers also found a digital scale that is used to sale illegal narcotics.

Myrick is being charged with fleeing and attempting to elude and trafficking in methamphetamine.

He was taken to the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance.
