TAYLOR COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL)--A tire failure is believed to be a factor in a fatal crash in Taylor County.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers say 52-year-old Jeffrey Lee Swain of Greenville was driving south on U.S. 221 when he crossed the center line and hit a Ford F-150.
It happened Saturday around 2:20 p.m. Troopers say the driver of the truck 53-year old Jerrie Catherine Murphy of Perry was seriously injured and taken to a hospital. Swain was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
