JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - A central Florida man faces up to 25 years in prison for a fatal drunken driving crash in Jacksonville.
The Florida Times-Union (https://goo.gl/9JZzJ1 ) reports that 23-year-old Sean Frederick Franke was convicted Tuesday of DUI manslaughter, as well as two counts of DUI with serious injury. Sentencing is scheduled for the week of Oct. 31.
Prosecutors say Franke lost control of his truck and crashed into a light pole on New Year's Day 2013. One passenger, 20-year-old Dara Michelle Kusiv, was killed in the crash and two other passengers were injured.
Tests after the crash showed Franke had a blood-alcohol level of 0.178 percent. Florida law considers a driver impaired at 0.08 percent.
