MADISON CO., Fla. (WTXL) - United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida Pamela Marsh announced that on April 29, 2014, 43-year old Chad Eric Jones of Madison, Florida was sentenced to one year in federal prison by U.S. District Court Judge Robert Hinkle.

Jones, a federally licensed firearms dealer, was the Owner of GunSlingers Pawn and Gun on Duval Street in Madison. He pleded guilty in November of last year to multiple counts of selling firearms to a convicted felon and a single count of selling a handgun to a person under the age of 21.

In September of last year, ATF agents, with help from the Madison County Sheriff’s Office and the Madison Police Department, executed a search warrant at Jones’ work. While there, agents say they seized 67 firearms not listed in the Gunslingers Pawn and Gun acquisition and disposition book.

During the investigation, agents say they obtained an audio recording where Jones

admitted that he intentionally kept certain firearms out of his acquisition and disposition book to conceal the fact that he was selling firearms to prohibited persons.
