CRAWFORDVILLE, Fla. (WTXL) - A Crawfordville teenager who died Wednesday after crashing his truck is being remembered by those closest to him.

Florida Highway Patrol say Zach Douglas was driving on Beechwood Drive just south of Spring Creek Highway when the accident happened.

Troopers say his truck missed a curve and crashed into a ditch.

Douglas wasn't wearing his seatbelt.

His sudden death has taken those closest to him by surprise.

"I just screamed at the top of my lungs, 'Why did you have to take him?' and 'Why did you have to do this?'" said Kristen Dew, girlfriend of Zach Douglas.

"If he was still here today, he would want us to smile and move on with life and not to cry over it," said Savannah Bailey, friend of Zach Douglas.

Douglas was a recent Wakulla High School graduate.

Funeral arrangements aren't known at this time.
