TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) will hold a Food Truck Fair on Friday, May 10.
The event will be a gathering of mobile food vendors from around the region. DBPR Secretary Ken Lawson says that it's a popular gathering that just keeps growing.
"We started the fair about two years ago. About 200 people showed up. The next year 300. The last event about 600 people showed up," Lawson said. "People are really embracing these businesses."
Lawson says food trucks are popular because they follow the same licensing protocols as traditional restaurants in a more convenient, mobile format.
There is no cost to attend Friday evening's fair, and food prices vary among the vendors.
The Food Truck Fair will be held from 4:30-7 p.m. at the DBPR parking lot, which is located on North Monroe Street.
