TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - FSU is hosting extensive campus interviews with faculty, staff, students, and the community as part of the school's presidential search.

Meetings were held Tuesday with finalist Michele Wheatly, former provost at West Virginia University. Wheatly is one of four finalists up for the top job.

Senator John Thrasher, another finalist, participated in interviews on campus Monday.

Finalists met with the Presidential Search Advisory Committee (PSAC) in early September before the committee narrowed it down to four candidates. The decision has come with plenty of backlash from students in addition to the FSU Faculty Senate, who passed a resolution against the search.

The committee will be holding open forums throughout the week for each candidate. The committee has outlined a schedule of the search process, with the potential of having a candidate officially named as Florida State University's next president by the end of the month.

The schedule is:

Sept. 15-18 - Campus hosts candidates for extensive on-campus interviews

Sept. 19 - Campus feedback due

    Sept. 22 - PSAC meeting

Sept. 23 - FSU Board of Trustees meeting
