TALLAHASSEE, FL. (WTXL) - The Florida State University Faculty Senate passed a motion Wednesday voicing their concerns in the FSU presidential search.

The Presidential Search Advisory Committee has moved forward with their choices of finalists and it’s angered many of the faculty and student body.

The motion is calling upon the Presidential Search Advisory Committee not to recommend Senator John Thrasher as a candidate for president of FSU. They're also calling upon the Board of Trustees not to hire Senator Thrasher as the next president of FSU. Many faculty and students feel Senator Thrasher lacks the stated qualifications required for the position, whereas the other three finalists meet those qualifications.

The faculty senate is calling on all faculty members to participate fully in the interview process and to submit comments.

The last four finalists include Senator John thrasher who has moved forward, West Virginia University Provost Michele Wheatly, Michael Martin, Chancellor of the Colorado State University system and Richard Marchase, Vice President at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
