A Tallahasse man is arrested after his little brother is accidently shot

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- Twenty-two year old Cedric Wallace was arrested after an accidental shooting at a home on Great Lakes Drive in Tallahassee.

The boy who was shot is five years old. Police say the boy got the gun from his brother's bedroom.

Investigators say he and his seven year old relative were playing with the gun when the seven year old fired the weapon. The bullet hit the five year in his stomach.

Police rule the shooting to be accidental.

The victim's Grandmother Betty Tyler told us she had no idea there was a gun in their home. Tyler says, "I don't know much about guns. I don't know why anyone needs a gun. If you have kids keep it as far away from kids as you can."

The shooting took place yesterday morning. Betty Tyler says her grandson is recovering at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.

Tyler says doctors operated on her grandson yesterday. She says, "He's doing great. They had to remove part of his large intestine, his small intestine was scraped a little."

Tallahassee police arrested Cedric Wallace, charging him with, Child Neglect Causing Great Bodily Harm.
