FRANKLIN COUNTY, Fla. — Spring break may be winding down, but that's not stopping Franklin County from issuing several warnings to those who are caught breaking the law.

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office has responded to several incidents lately, and the sheriff says there's a "zero tolerance" policy.

In the last few weeks, the sheriff's office has seen quite a bit of underage drinking, criminal mischief and theft.

The sheriff is warning parents about letting their kids ride golf carts, and not just by the beaches.

Anyone caught driving without a license will get a citation.

The sheriff says the county is on the cusp of a bad accident and he wants to make sure everyone is safe.

"We're going to tighten things up. There will be no notice to appear. If you're caught breaking the law, you will be arrested, and you will be brought to jail," said Franklin County Sheriff A.J. Smith. "So, please enjoy our beaches, and just make the best of it, but don't come and do anything crazy."

The sheriff also says pay attention to the warning flags on the beach.

If it's red, don't go in the water because there are no lifeguards.
