JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. — A Jackson County woman is suing an auto parts shop after her husband fell from the roof and died.

George Robert Paul's widow says the roof damage was left over from Hurricane Michael.

Paul's lawyer says Marianna Auto Parts and Supply had large holes in the roof after Michael. Her lawyer also claims the damages were only superficially patched up and not repaired.

Now, his widow is asking for $15,000 in a wrongful death lawsuit.

Court documents claim the auto parts shop knew about the "hidden dangerous condition" of the holes, which were only covered with a layer of sheet metal and fiberglass.

On March 19, Paul climbed a ladder to work on the roof, where he fell through to the concrete floor and died.

His lawyers say the building was empty at the time and it took close to two hours for someone to find him.

Bob Paul was an army vet and him and his wife were married for 27 years.

We've also reached out to Marianna Auto Parts for comment on the lawsuit, but haven't heard back.

Of course, we know that many buildings and roofs were damaged in Jackson County last October.
