WAKULLA COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — Two sheriff's offices are coming together to support a Wakulla County deputy who was seriously injured in a patrol car crash back in April and are asking for other local law enforcement to show some love too.

On April 10, 2019, Deputy Jonathan Kendrick of the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office was in a horrific traffic crash while on duty.

On Thursday, Franklin County Sheriff A.J. Smith and Wakulla County Sheriff Jared Miller presented a check for $1,000 from the Florida Deputy Sheriff’s Association to help cover some of Deputy Kendrick's expenses.

To help support Deputy Kendrick during National Police Week 2019, deputies are now asking other current or retired law enforcement officers to show him some love.

"You can mail cards, word puzzles or personal stories of on duty traffic crashes to help with his recovery to the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Jonathan Kendrick, 15 Oak Street, Crawfordville, Florida 32327," deputies wrote in a Facebook post.
