WAKULLA COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — Troopers say a Wakulla County deputy and a Tallahassee man have been seriously injured after being involved in a crash late Wednesday night.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened at Crawfordville Highway and Bloxham Cut Off Road Wednesday at 11:59 p.m.

Troopers say 30-year-old Jonathon Kendrick was driving a Wakulla County Sheriff's pickup truck when 21-year-old Denzel Savery, who was in a Ford F350 collided with the deputy at the interaction of Crawfordville Highway and State Road 267.

After the collision Savery's truck landed on the side of the road. Due to the impact of the crash, Kendrick's truck hit a utility pole before also landing on the side of the road.

Troopers say deputy Kendrick was temporarily trapped inside his truck until the Wakulla County Fire Rescue was able to get him out.

Authorities say both drivers were transported to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital with serious injurious.

As a result of the crash, a traffic light was out. That traffic light has since been repaired and both Crawfordville Highway and Bloxham Cut Off Road are back open.

The Wakulla County Sheriff's office says that Deputy Kendrick is still in the hospital but is in stable condition.
