VALDOSTA, Ga.(WTXL) — Valdosta police are investigating after a man was shot and killed Tuesday night on North Forrest Street.
According to the Valdosta Police Department, officers responded to the 700 block of North Forrest Street, for a 911 call about a person who had been shot Tuesday, at approximately 8:24 pm.
Upon arrival, officers found the victim, Jarvez Miller, with apparent gunshot wounds to his body.
Officers provided first aid until Emergency Medical Services arrived on the scene.
EMS transported the victim to South Georgia Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.
Detectives with the Valdosta Police Department and Crime Scene Personnel from the Valdosta Lowndes Regional Crime Laboratory also responded to the scene to investigate the incident, which is being treated as a homicide.
