A Lake City man is facing reckless driving charges after troopers say he crashed his car into multiple utility poles in Suwannee County.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 27-year-old John Biansco was driving east on 216 Street on Wednesday night.

Meanwhile, 67-year-old Stephen Myers was heading west on 216 Street.

Troopers say Biansco suddenly swerved left to continue driving northeast and Myers came to a complete stop to avoid hitting Biansco's truck.

After Biansco swerved his vehicle, he went on to hit multiple utility poles as he continued driving on 216 Street.

FHP says as the poles broke, the wires fell on Myers' vehicle.

After hitting several poles in the area, Biansco finally stopped his truck and fled the scene.

Biansco was later transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. Myers did not suffer any injuries during the incident.

According to documents, Biansco is being charged with leaving the scene of an accident, reckless driving and driving with a suspended license.

FHP says 216 Street will be closed for several hours due to repairs for the utility poles.
