TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Some people just aren't heeding Tallahassee police warnings about the COVID-19 curfew.
On Tuesday night, TPD says one person was placed under arrest for violating curfew.
Police spoke with as many as 20 other people to educate them about the importance of social distancing.
While they haven't had to make many arrests to enforce the curfew, they're receiving reports about private parties, which has become a major concern.
"Well, we've gotten several complaints about large gatherings in some of the common areas and some of the apartments," siad TPD officer, Kevin Bradshaw. "People getting together having parties and conducting business as usual when, realistically, this is not the time to be doing that. We are asking everybody to respect the curfew laws and respect the social distancing."
TPD says they are right now asking for voluntary compliance but there are plans in place to make it a criminal violation, which they will enforce.
