TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — On Tuesday, Leon County Schools superintendent Rocky Hanna announced the establishment of a 20-person 'Reopen Leon Schools Task Force' to look at how the district will handle the 2020-2021 school year.
The task force is planned to be comprised of 10 representatives from Hanna's cabinet, along with 10 people appointed by board members.
Each board member will be able to choose two people to serve on the task force.
Assistant superintendent Dr. Michelle Gayle will oversee the task force.
Hanna said it will tackle issues relating COVID-19, including health, budget, academics, technology, digital divide, and connectivity.
Hanna says the task force will follow a model being used by state universities, including Florida State.
