Police: Texas Street shooting victim dies from injuries, TPD investigating

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Tallahassee police are now investigating the shooting on Texas Street as homicide after the victim died from his injuries days later.

According to the Tallahassee Police Department, the shooting happened at Sunrise Apartments at 2525 Texas Street on May 29.

Sadly, the adult male victim has succumbed to his injuries after being hospitalized following the shooting.

The Tallahassee Police Department is currently investigating a shooting at Sunrise Apartments.

Officers were notified of the shooting on Friday night at approximately 11:50 p.m. and responded to 2525 Texas Street.

Upon arrival, officers discovered one victim suffering from a gunshot wound. TPD and emergency responders immediately provided medical attention to the victim, who was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.

This is the third shooting to happen in Tallahassee on Friday.

The first happened in the 2300 block of Keith Street, where two people were hurt. The second happened in the 2600 block of Mission Road, where a man was found dead after suffering an apparent gunshot wound.

The case has been assigned to investigators with TPD's Violent Crimes Unit.
