TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — The Tallahassee Police Department has arrested a man for murder in connection to a deadly shooting in the Westgate Community in early October.

Police say the shooting happened on Oct. 2 in the 3200 block of Westgate Court.

Officers and first responders arrived on scene just after 8 a.m. and provided medical attention to one adult male that was injured in the shooting. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment and evaluation.

Police say initial information indicated that the suspect was still in the area, so officers quickly cleared and secured the scene.

During this process, a second victim, who has not been identified, was discovered with a gunshot wound and pronounced deceased at the scene.

Following an investigation, TPD said they found probable cause to charge a suspect, 44-year-old Robert Bruce Green Jr., in connection to the shooting.

He was arrested Wednesday and charged with homicide, attempted homicide, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

"TPD reminds citizens about the importance of community engagement. If you see something, say something," TPD wrote in a release sent Wednesday afternoon.

Residents are asked to report criminal activity by calling TPD at 850-891-4200. You can also remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 850-891-TIPS.
