Sneads teen in critical condition after being thrown from car

JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. — A 19-year-old is in critical condition after being thrown from her car.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 11:05 a.m. Thursday on State Road 2 in Jackson County.

FHP said Kristin Carroll was driving eastbound on State Road 2 when she traveled onto the shoulder of the road and overcorrected. Her car then began to spin, hitting a tree and causing Carroll to be thrown from the car. She was taken to Southeast Alabama Medical.

FHP said Carroll was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident and charges are pending.

FHP was helped on scene by the Jackson County Sheriff's Office and Jackson County Rescue.
