TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — One Tallahassee bakery is handing out treats to anyone willing to help feed the community.

Smallcakes is offering a free cupcake when you donate food to Second Harvest of the Big Bend.

Brent Edson, the owner of Smallcakes says he felt compelled to help others out after restaurant closures.

He says Smallcakes has been fortunate enough to receive from the community and he wants to give back as best he can.

"We're watching news about families needing food and really wanted to give back to our community," said Edson. "I reached back to Second Harvest in late March, April, and said we want to give back and be a donation center to help out. The city, the town can give back and they don't have to feel the need to drive down to drop it off. "

There's a Second Harvest donation box at both the Apalachee Parkway and the Killearn locations.
