MARIANNA, Fla. (WTXL) — The Marianna Police Department will be conducting a Safety and Sobriety checkpoint this Saturday.

MPD said as part of their proactive efforts to reduce traffic crashes and fatalities while drivers are intoxicated, they will be conducting a Safety and Sobriety checkpoint on Saturday night.

The checkpoint will be conducted on Highway 73 South. This is part of the Marianna Police Department’s “Operation Sober City” initiative.

Police would like to remind drivers to slow down, don't text and drive and to drive sober.

MPD says they will have zero tolerance for drivers who drink and drive.

Chief Hayes Baggett also encourages drivers to report suspicious behavior and reckless drivers by contacting police at (850)526-3125.
