GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. — A home cooked meal and even a DJ, it was a welcome return home for seniors in Quincy.

Monday marked their first time back at the Gadsden County Senior Center after they staged a walkout weeks ago amidst claims of discrimination and mistreatment.

They vowed not to return until a new board of directors was brought in. Four of those board members have since resigned and three members remain.

"The bottom line is we're here to serve our seniors. If we don't listen to what they are interested in, and we don't address their complaints and take them seriously, then we're really not fulfilling our mission to serve," said Lisa Bretz, Executive Director at the Area Agency on Aging for North Florida.

The center is recruiting now to fill the open positions on the board.
