TAYLOR COUNTY, Fla. — A Quincy man suffered serious injuries after driving off the roadway and becoming entrapped inside his overturned semi-truck.
Rolan Kelley, 40, of Quincy is currently in critical but stable condition.
According to FHP, the accident happened on US 19 at about 7:43 a.m. Wednesday in Taylor County.
FHP said Kelley was driving on U..S 19 and, for reasons that are currently under investigation, veered onto the shoulder of the road, hitting the guardrail before the semi-truck overturned onto its side.
After the crash, he was entrapped within the passenger compartment of the vehicle and was pinned from his waist down, according to FHP. After Kelley was removed, he was air lifted to UF Health Shands Hospital for his injuries.
Kelley was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
Charges are pending investigation.
