TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Sorry, ladies! One eligible bachelor is now off the market!
Jiminy Cricket, the puppy dumped at the Bainbridge Decatur Humane Society in February, is six months old and has a family to call his own.
More good news for Jiminy: He already knows them.
Shannon Colavecchio, who's been fostering Jiminy since February, decided to keep him.
Colavecchio said she wrestled with the decision to keep Jiminy for over a month but after nursing him back to health, Colavecchio and her two sons, and three other fur children, just couldn't let him go.
"I thought this puts me in crazy dog lady territory, but you know what, I have a lot of love to give and he has a lot to give back, so it's going to be okay," Colavecchio said. "He's just such an amazing dog, my boys that I adopted last year, are also really attached to him, and so he's just become part of our family. The thought of him not being here, I just couldn't fathom it."
Colavecchio wanted to thank the families that wanted to adopt Jiminy, there were 12, and hopes his story encourages people to support their local animal shelters.
