JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — More charges are being dropped for cases involved with a former Jackson County deputy accused of planting drugs.
According to FDLE, last August they found out that Zachary Wester would regularly pull-over drivers in Jackson County for traffic stops, plant drugs in their cars and take them to jail on fake charges.
Prosecutors say last year, 119 of those Jackson County cases were dropped.
Now State Attorney Jack Campbell is dropping more than a dozen cases that were a part of temporary work Wester did with the Liberty County Sheriff's Office.
Officials say Wester joined the Liberty County Sheriff's Office in 2015 but was fired for allegations of inappropriate behavior with women while on the job.
