Panacea man hurt following single-engine plane crash at Panacea Airport

WAKULLA COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — A Panacea man is injured following a minor single-engine plane crash at the airport in Panacea.

According to The Florida Highway Patrol, who was assisting the Wakulla County Sheriff's Office on the call, the aircraft lost power and landed short of the grass runway.

Emergency personnel were able to remove the pilot who was the sole occupant of the plane from the wreckage. The pilot was then transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries

Both agencies are waiting for the FAA, who will be conducting further investigation.
