Police looking for armed and dangerous man involved in Valdosta murder

VALDOSTA, Ga. — Authorities are looking for an armed and dangerous suspect involved in a Valdosta homicide.

Last week detectives with the Valdosta Police Department identified a third suspect in the Sept. 23 homicide of 18-year-old Ahmad Fredrick.

Detectives obtained arrest warrants for Richard Lindell Wolfe for felony murder, three counts of aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

VPD says at this time Wolfe's location is not known and the police department is asking for help in finding him.

If anyone knows where Wolfe is, or comes into contact with him, please call 911 immediately. Wolfe should be considered armed and dangerous.

Four people have been arrested in connection to a homicide in Valdosta.

On Thursday, the Valdosta Police Department obtained arrest warrants 25-year-old Shaivon Edwards in connection with the homicide. On Friday, Edwards turned himself in at the Valdosta Police Department.

He is currently being held in the Lowndes County Jail and is being charged with felony murder, three counts of felony aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

During the investigation, 42-year-old Tawanya Postell and 30-year-old Ashia Edwards provided false statements to law enforcement, which hindered the detectives with their investigation.

Arrests warrants were obtained on both of them for providing a false statement to law enforcement. Both were arrested Friday and also taken to Lowndes County Jail.

Also on Friday, detectives obtained arrest warrants for Jaquarius Holsendolph in connection with the homicide. He was arrested by detectives on Sunday without incident.

He is being held in Lowndes County Jail and is being charged with felony murder, three counts of felony aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

One person was killed and another injured after a shooting in Valdosta on Monday.

At about 1:30 p.m., the Valdosta Police Department responded to the 400 block of West Mary Street in reference to two people being shot.

When officers arrived on scene, they found two victims inside a vehicle that had been shot.

Officers and detectives removed the two victims from the vehicle and immediately started providing first aid. Unfortunately, 18-year-old Ahmad Fredrick was pronounced dead at the scene, while the second victim was taken by EMS to South Georgia Medical Center to receive further treatment.

Crime Scene Personnel from the Valdosta-Lowndes Regional Crime Laboratory responded to assist in the investigation.

During the investigation, it was determined that the victims were shot while traveling in the 1100 block of Melody Lane. Evidence was found at that scene which confirmed that the incident occurred at that location.

Based off of information gathered in the investigation, VPD says it appears to be an isolated incident.
