TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — A 27-year-old man has been arrested after police say he opened fire on two victims without warning, killing one person and injuring another on California Street.
Andre McKenzie, 27, was arrested Tuesday morning by members of TPD's Career Criminal Unit, which is part of the U.S. Marshal's Violent Fugitive Task Force, in the 4400 block of Shelfer Road.

When they got to California Street, McKenzie shot the victims without warning, killing one of the victims.
TPD said the surviving victim began to fight with the suspect until another person intervened to help McKenzie. The surviving victim was able to escape and flee from his attacker.
Although an arrest has been made, police said elements of this case are still open and actively being investigated.
