Man arrested after found with drugs, loaded gun near Leon County church

LEON COUNTY, Fla. — A 19-year-old has been arrested after he was seen smoking and passing marijuana to a minor and in possession of cocaine as well as a loaded gun near a church.

Booker Flowers, 19, was arrested by the Leon County Sheriff's Office on Thursday.

On Thursday morning, deputies made contact with Flowers after he was seen smoking marijuana in the area of Gaile Avenue and Crawfordville Road.

Flowers was also seen passing the marijuana to a 16-year-old. Deputies arrested Flowers and found him to be in possession of a loaded .22 caliber Black Widow Revolver that had been reported stolen and 2.5 grams of crack cocaine.

LCSO says he was within 65 feet of a place of worship.

He is being charged with the following:

  • Grand Theft of Firearm
  • Possession of Weapon by Convicted Felon
  • Possession of Cocaine With Intent to Sell
  • Possession of Cocaine w/in 1000 ft of Place of Worship
  • Contributing to the Dependancy of a Minor
  • Possession of less than 20 grams of Marijuana
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance

Flowers was taken to the Leon County Detention Facility.
