Madison County declares local state of emergency

MADISON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — The Madison Board of County Commissioners has declared a local state of emergency for the entire county.

Emergency Management's Deputy Director Leigh Basford updated the Board of County Commissioners on Hurricane Dorian at a special meeting Friday afternoon.

During that meeting, the Board approved the local state of emergency.

Officials say the Board of County Commissioners and staff will continue to monitor Hurricane Dorian and will provide updates as the storm progresses.
