TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The weather was perfect Wednesday morning for some students in Tallahassee to ditch the school bus and walk.
The Walking School Bus was a joint effort between the City of Tallahassee, Leon County, and Florida State University Schools Parent Teacher Student Association (FSUS PTSA). All to promote pedestrian and cycling safety.
"It also promotes the getting outside and walking. I think that's something we sometimes take a back seat to," said parent Jennifer Cooke. "Our kids tend to stay inside and watch video games and television. It's time to get outside and do things and exercise."
Wednesday's walk ended with Muffins With Mom. A way to show appreciation to all of the mothers.
