TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Months-long "Stop the Steal" protests at Tallahassee's Old Capitol Building may now be coming to end.

People have been gathering for "Stop the Steal" rallies for months following the election results.

Leon County Republican Chair Evan Power said with votes certified for Joe Biden as president-elect, it's time for the conversation and movement to move on.

"I don't think anyone is going to continue those," said Power. "I think obviously the election is over. I think what's important is for us to ensure we have fair and transparent elections moving forward and second is to pass Governor DeSantis' rioting bill to hold people accountable for when they take actions that are illegal and cause violence."

Power also condemned the violence and trespassing that happened at the U.S. Capitol Wednesday.
