LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — Some studies show that wearing a mask can reduce the spread of COVID-19 by as much as 40 to 60 percent.

Now Leon County government officials are saying It's not too much to mask!

That’s the slogan for their social media campaign. They want you to take a selfie with a mask on. Explain why you choose to wear a mask and then add #MaskOnLeon.

c hope this will encourage more people to wear mask and cut down on the risk of infection.

“Since launching it we’ve seen about 100 different post on Facebook and twitter, said Leon County commissioner Rick Minor. “All together those have been viewed about one million times. So it’s really gotten out there in terms of spreading word about the benefits of wearing mask.”

To help encourage even more people to participate the county added a superhero theme to this program.

“We’re just trying to come up with creative ways to cut through the noise and get peoples attention, said Minor. “We’ve got a great message and we’ve got some great folks at the county that are working very hard to increase that public awareness of wearing a mask. So the superhero theme is just one of those examples.”
