LEON COUNTY, FL (WTXL) - — Leon County leaders are now instituting an 11pm to 6am curfew starting Saturday night, following protests across in Tallahassee. The curfew will last until 6am Monday.
The county said the request comes at the request of law enforcement.
"While we respect the right of individuals to peacefully protest, our first obligation is to ensure the safety of our community," said Leon County Commission Chairman Bryan Desloge.
During the curfew, County residents should remain home; individuals may go to and from work, seek healthcare or emergency veterinary care, or walk a pet on their premises.
"We will enforce the curfew for the safety of all our citizens," said Tallahassee Police Public Information Officer Rachelle Denmark. " We have enhanced staffing and will be working with our LEO partners."
TPD said no arrests have been made during the protests. No other information on the truck incident has been made at this time.
