TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — This summer, the capitol city will host a convention that is out of this world.

From Star Wars fans to fans of Guardians of the Galaxy, fans will flock to the Capital City to enjoy the first ever Infinity Con Tallahassee.

Infinity Con Tallahassee is nearly a month away and comic book lovers say the event is a long time coming.

" Last few years we've been coming over and talking to shops here about our Lake City show and a lot of them are asking 'when are you doing this here? " said David Heringer, Events Coordinator for Infinity Con.

For the last 6 years, Infinity Con has been stationed in Lake City. But due to the overwhelming desire from fans, Heringer believes this is the year to bring that culture to the Capitol City.

"The more we express and tell people about it, the more people will come. Tallahassee is ready for something like this," said Jeff Davis, Comic Book Fan/Manager of Bookshelf 2.

Heringer says in Lake City, the event drew more than 1,000 people, and his goal for Infinity Con Tallahassee is even bigger.

"One of the things I want to be able to do is say hey let's be your main summer event," said Heringer. "You see people from all different backgrounds, all different anything coming together that normally wouldn't hang out in this setting."

Bringing a whole new experience to the Capitol City for residents and visitors to enjoy.

Infinity Con Tallahassee will be held June 29, at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center.
