VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) — A man was arrested after investigators say he kidnapped and trafficked two women across the Florida-Georgia line, making them perform sexual activities for money and sell drugs.
The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office arrested Javarice Raydale Ware of Greenville for human trafficking and drug charges on Thursday.
During the investigation, authorities conducted surveillance of Ware at a local motel, where they identified two women in a vehicle speaking to him.
Ware was seen directing a victim to a motel room for a sexual act. Interviews with the victims revealed that Ware had transported two women across state lines to have them engage in commercial sexual acts.
The victims told investigators they had been held against their will and had been threatened with a knife.
Deputies say the victims stated that they had to perform sexual acts, as well as to distribute illegal drugs for Ware’s financial benefit.
Upon Ware’s arrest, he was found to have the described knife hidden on his person and other items that linked him to the crimes.
Investigators were able to help the victims through a local agency that specializes in victims of trauma related to these crimes.
As of Thursday, Ware is being held in the Lowndes County Jail.
