TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — After 104 years in business, Gramling's Feed Store is closing its doors for good.

The Tallahassee staple opened its doors in 1915 and has been serving the community ever since.

There's no doubt that Gramling's Feed Store has left its mark on Tallahassee.

"We have people come in in their 80s and 90s and will tell us they used to come in here with their parents or grandparents," said owner Stan Gramling.

It's also left a mark on owner Stan Gramling.

"This is like being home everytime I'm in the store. I grew up here," said Gramling.

The family operated store opened 104 years ago on South Adams Street. Over time, as the city grew, things never stayed the same.

"Everything grew north and east. We were sitting down here kind of cut off from the rest of the stuff," said Gramling.

In recent years, sales haven't been strong, ultimately forcing Gramling to make the call to close down the store for good. He is still adjusting to the thought.

"I've got a lot of memories with the family part of it and everything else and a lot of the customers are kind of like family to be honest with you," said Gramling.

One customer has depended on Gramling's for 35 years. When he heard the news that they were closing, he was in disbelief.

"Tell me it ain't so, tell me it ain't so. Heartbroken. I'm absolutely heartbroken to see a piece of Tallahassee's history gone," said customer Don Gates.

Gates as well as many others are thankful for the service and friendships Gramling's provided over the years.

"It's been a great run for him and his family," said Gates.

Gramling's official last day will be June 29.
