Gadsden County School District pushes start date to Aug. 31

GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — The Gadsden County School District is pushing back the fall semester start date to August 31.

The announcement came during the District's Facebook Live on Tuesday, available here.

Face coverings will be required for all students and staff with some medical exceptions. Buses will be used and disinfected, final spacing plans are still in development.

Parents have both in-person and remote learning options.

Students will have the option to participate in on-campus sports and extracurricular activities as available. High School athletics are governed by the Florida High School Athletic Association, and Gadsden County School District will adhere to the guidelines set forth by that organization.

Remote learning request forms will be available on the district's website on July 17 and are due on July 31.
