GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) — Gadsden County was also hit by a tornado Sunday night.

The National Weather Service confirms that tornado was an EF-1. That means the top wind speed was 100-miles per hour.

Throughout the area trees are down homes and cars are damaged and some houses even lost parts of their roof.

Major Shawn Wood with the Gadsden County Sheriff's Office says this tornado comes as the community is still trying to recover from Hurricane Michael, almost five months ago.

"We're not through dealing with Michael. Hurricane Michael was pretty devastating," said Major Wood. "When this storm came through, we're finding a lot of homes with blue tarps, we have a lot of blue tarps on houses. We have a long term recovery group, and we're hoping that people will come forward and volunteer."

The tornado also snapped several utility poles.
