TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Former Tallahassee Downtown Improvement Authority Executive Director Paige Carter-Smith wants the perjury charge against her to be dropped.

Carter-Smith is facing political corruption charges with suspended City Commissioner Scott Maddox and developer John "J.T" Burnette.

In a motion filed in U-S District Court Friday, Carter-Smith's attorney asked the court to remove Count 39. It states that she "falsely stated that she was the only person associated with Governance."

Carter-Smith's lawyer says that accusation is too vague for her to prepare a defense and therefore violates the 6t Amendment to the Constitution.
